Sage Advice about Granny Squares From a 5-Yr Old

Actually, the only advice I got from the

5-yr olds the I know is to make them soft!

I love a good granny square pattern/recipe. There are so many different looks, color combinations, and uses! My favorite thing about them is that you can work on them anywhere, they are so easy to travel with, take along to that Dr. appointment, or while watching children at practice, pretty much anywhere!

Not all Granny Squares are square.

Many times you will find hexagons, round centers, some with the traditional 3 double crochet stitches followed by 2 chain stitches pattern.

Granny Squares (think 1970's sweaters!) are a great way to use up scrap yarn, the small amounts of yarn left over from a crochet project or skein of yarn.

Granny Squares can be whatever you want them to be! The sky's the limit with your creativity. That's one of the things I love most about Crocheting!
