Crochet Hooks

One of the tools of my "trade" are crochet hooks. And like yarn, there are many types of hooks!

Wood hooks, aluminum hooks,

plastic/acrylic, ergonomic,

comfort grip, hand-crafted,

broomstick, Tunisian, thread, and more!

Crochet hooks are definitely not a "one size fits all" item! With many companies making hooks, you can find hooks that you will fall in love with. My favorite hooks are from Clover, Amour style. They are aluminum with a soft ergonomic grip which really helps with keeping my hand from getting tired.

When I was younger, I used Susan Bates or Boye. They were my favorites! Aluminum, lots of colors, lots of sizes, easy to hold, etc. I could crochet for hours on end without any issues. As I got older, my hand and wrist would ache after a short time and I would need to take long breaks from my favorite activity.

Don't let all the different types of hooks and uses intimidate you! it will take some trial and error to find the hooks that you love, will fit your hand, and work with the yarn or thread that you are using. Just give it a try!
